How it works
Customers of Cyber Sentry have all of their incomming email automatically scanned for viruses. The service passes all emails through three virus scanners which have been integrated into our mail servers. As extra protection, our own unique developed software 'Cyber-Seek' then further checks for discernable patterns alerting out Technical Team to any suspicious behavior.
If a virus is detected the sender, recipient and the Cyber Sentry postmaster are all informed that a virus has been detected and the sender's details and subject line are preserved for reference. Infected email is kept in a secure location for a period of one month should additional action be required.
So how does it work?
In order to scan email, Cyber Sentry intercept all mail as it passes through the messaging system so that it can be processed and examined for viruses before being allowed to continue to its ultimate destination.
To achieve this, Cyber Sentry have developed a mail system that has two mail queues. The first accepts all incoming mail and queues the messages ready to be virus checked; if the message is clean then the mail is allowed to move on to the second mail queue ready for delivery.
